‘Flip your Life’ in 2021 the Positive Way

My YOI life transforming experience began to be evident to me at the grocery store.

I almost collided with a gentleman as I was trying to pick and choose the ‘right’ tomatoes on the shelf.

It was in the early hours on a fine Saturday morning. It was mid June 2020. The employees of the supermarket were busy replenishing stocks on all the shelves in preparation for the buyers. Customer footfall at that hour was expected to be quite low which is exactly why I chose to go there at this time each and every week.

Surprised at the near collision in spite of the near empty supermarket, I looked up at my co-shopper partly to apologize and partly to check whether he was all right. I did not realize more surprises awaited me. He turned out to be a colleague who was also my neighbor. It took him some time to recognize me as I was armed with a mask and face shield. However, instead of the usual smile and greeting I expected, he executed a barely perceptible nod as a mark of recognition and moved on with his errands!!! His eyes bleak.

In the ensuing week he was not the only one to have conducted himself in a similar manner. There were others… many many others… and then the plausible reason dawned upon me. At that time the entire country was being swept with a wave of Covid-19. Everyday, friends, colleagues, and neighbors were getting infected with a few of them needing hospitalization. There was a complete lockdown in progress,  commercial establishments were shut down, offices were closed, international airports were not functioning. There was a travel ban in force as well as a night curfew, not to mention strict adherence to social distancing norms. A ban had been imposed on visits to parks, beaches, restaurants, clubs, gyms and theatres. To maintain sustainability of businesses, many companies were laying off employees. The organization I was representing also chose to walk down the same path. Just the day before my near collision with my neighbor at the supermarket, in one foul swoop, the services of two thousand employees were terminated with immediate effect. The entire atmosphere exuded fear, uncertainty, negativity and despair in everyone…well in ALMOST everyone to be honest.

It was precisely at this time that I was practicing the third protocol of the first stage of Yoga of Immortals Sadhana. There is no equivalent word for the word ‘sadhana’ in English. Sadhana is different from regular meditation in that this is not a single technique or a set of techniques but a continued holistic practice that has been mastered and guided by the yogi masters of the Himalayas for thousands of years. After every day of practice in the morning and evening, I felt elevated, physically light and mentally free.

In the months to come, the more I practiced, the more I transformed from within. I experienced an unmistakable sense of being protected from negativity at all situations at all times. Without any fathomable reason upon which I could lay my finger, I felt joyful and blissful at all times. This, whether I was participating in very demanding business reviews or meeting very tough clients. Although such situations are not new to me, the feeling of continuous, seamless and uninterrupted bliss coursing through my entire system certainly is. On the physical side, I lost weight, felt leaner and more fit than ever before. And surprisingly, I successfully bid goodbye to almost twenty-five years of insomnia. Boy, I never thought that going back to getting a normal night’s sleep would usher in such pleasure, well-being and peace. I had been accustomed to getting less than five and half hours every night. It was amazing to finally experience eight hours of absolutely beautiful sleep and to be greeted by the early dawn completely refreshed, recharged, revitalized and rejuvenated. JUST LIKE THAT. No doctors visited. No sleeping pills consumed. It was like magic. All I did was practice the Yoga of Immortals protocols each and every day and follow the ancient breathing, kriyas and sadhana I learned. That was it. It worked wonders for me! Even if there were nights when I had to do with less sleep because of long working hours, in the subsequent day I still felt boundless energy flowing through me all day long. Before practicing Yoga of Immortals I would often experience a terrible night’s sleep which would result in body aches and tiredness all day long. Thankfully those days are gone!

When I observe the thoughts passing through my mind; or I remind myself of my actions and the way in which I have conducted myself during various situations at various places; or think of the words that I have had spoken under stressful conditions, I find a common thread joining all this. It is of POSITIVITY.

In addition, all my relationships, whether family, friends or colleagues, have improved enormously. Yoga of Immortals (YOI) has also been scientifically proven by a team of global medical doctors to release  anxiety, depression, and insomnia in a few short weeks of practice. 82% of participants in the study experienced a reduction from having moderate to severe insomnia and their sleep habits normalized. This happened in only eight weeks of daily practice! In addition, moderate to severe anxiety resolved itself by 75% and moderate to severe depression at 72%. It is also working wonders and helping so many people on so many levels to increase their quality of life by 77%.

I look forward to the future with much hope, vigor, positivity, confidence, acceptance and enormous excitement to continue learning more about Yoga of Immortals and its beneficial effects to release stress and bring harmony and happiness to my life. I want to experience much more and am excited to give more to society as well. I have been so privileged to learn these ancient and powerful healing protocols from the founder of Yoga of Immortals, Ishan Shivanand. My experience with Yoga of Immortals has been nothing short of life transforming and has brought so much positivity to my life.
